佛像到底可不可以戴在身上？佩戴佛像是什么時候開始流行的，佛教經典中有佩戴佛像的說法嗎，真的是“男戴觀音女戴佛”嗎？佩戴佛像到底會為我們帶來什么后果？今天的這一篇常識文章非常重要，各位有緣的鳳凰網友要看仔細了。
首先，不論是玉質的，還是其他任何材質制成的佛菩薩像的徽章、吊墜、掛件，乃至項鏈、手環之類，小編在此懇切勸誡：千萬不可戴在身上。原因為何？請往下看。
佛像是佛法的象征之一，具有表法的功用和神圣的屬性，宗教的神圣性需要具體的象征物來體現，佛菩薩是人天導師，是眾生出離生死苦海解脫苦難的依怙，佛菩薩作為我們恭敬、禮拜、學習的對象，是我們的目標、榜樣和追求，我們看到佛菩薩的像，就能時刻記得要學習佛的慈悲；歆慕佛的莊嚴；開顯佛的智慧。但是我們把佛像戴在身上，不論是為了好看，還是為了獲得保佑，都是極大的不恭敬。試想，神圣的佛像怎么可以成為裝飾物？我們最崇敬的人天導師怎么可以成為貼身保鏢？有人可能會說，哪有那么嚴重，佛像就是佛像，你這小編少在這里忽悠人。說這個話的人就是對佛法要義缺乏了解。要知道，佛有法、報、化三身，佛像本來就是佛的應化身之一。試問，我們會不會把自己的父母當做裝飾或者擺設，會不會把父母當做自己的家丁或保鏢？道理不言自明。說到這里，小編要告訴大家，不要佩戴佛像，可不是我自己杜撰的，杜撰一個事關佛教信仰的說法，一個事關眾生法身慧命的教言，小編既沒那個能力，更無那個膽量。事實上，佩戴佛像，不僅在佛教經典中找不到一處記載，其實佛門高僧也早在百多年前就已經痛陳其弊，以下引用近代高僧印光大師的話，請大家仔細閱讀，從中不但可以知道為何不能佩戴佛像，也可以知道佩戴佛像何時流行，由誰肇始：
前三日接到歧路指歸二本，見后附之徽章，頗不謂然。民國二年（編注：1913年）北京法源寺道階法師做佛誕紀念會，以釋迦佛像為徽章，光絕不知其事。事后道階來普陀，送光一徽章，光痛斥其褻瀆。至十二年（編注：1923年）仍復如是。上海亦仿而行之，今居士亦仿而行之。作俑之罪，始于道階。道階尚能講經，而于恭敬尊重，完全不講，亦可嘆也。彼會中所來之一切人員，各須身佩一徽章。若佩之拜佛，亦不合宜。佩之拜人，則彼此折福。然現在由道階提倡，已成通規。光亦知此事不易收拾，然以居士過愛，不能不為一說耳。（《印光法師文鈔?三編?卷二?復鄔崇音居士書》）

現今之善男信女及在家居士，多以玉制（或金銀等）佛像、觀音像掛件為護身符，不僅不戴在衣服外，還緊貼皮膚，入廁不摘，洗澡也不摘，褻瀆之罪絕非淺淺！還妄想依此植福消災，豈有如愿之理？！更有傳言所謂‘男戴觀音女戴佛’之說！印光大師乃大勢至菩薩化身，于此弊端之始就極陳其過，鑒于此流弊之泛濫，特錄大士之法語示眾！唯愿大眾惜福，莫遭罪業！（所引即為印祖《復鄔崇音居士書》）
由此我們知道，佩戴佛像不但不能植福消災，反而褻瀆之罪嚴重，更是消損我們的福報。
所以，無論如何請都不要佩戴佛像。那有人會說，不是說有什么本命佛嗎，佩戴自己的本命佛是不是就可以呢？小編在此鄭重提醒，十二生肖是中國民俗，何來與佛法結成什么本命佛？本命佛之說才是商家杜撰，試想以解脫一切眾生苦難為己任的佛菩薩會專門照顧哪一個群體嗎。
要知道，佛經中多處提到禮敬佛菩薩像，念佛、念菩薩能消罪業，保平安。從未提佩戴佛像。有很多人說，“如果能以恭敬的心佩戴是可以的”。請問，你當著尊敬人的面,好意思脫了褲子上廁所嗎? 這不是一個道理嗎！說心里恭敬，卻連面兒上的恭敬都做不到，還談什么心中恭敬？更有甚者，胡言什么“我不著相，我不注重形式，我心中有佛就好”，還引用金剛經“一切有為法，如夢幻泡影，如露亦如電，應作如是觀”來為自己的所謂不注重形式做注腳。小編想說，你的境界到了嗎，學佛有次第，我們過了河到達了對岸，當然要扔掉船和槳輕裝上路開始新的歷程，但是你到對岸了嗎，還沒過河就要把船和槳都扔了嗎？所以說，末法時期，這種愚癡狂慧真的是到處都是，對于這種說法，實在不足與語，說了人家也聽不進去，徒增爭論。
印光大師曾說，佛法從恭敬中求，一分恭敬得一份利益，十分恭敬得十分利益。不可佩戴佛像，一來免得我們自己在不知不覺中因褻瀆而造業，二來可以避免消損身處末法時代的我們本就不多的福報，高僧大德們的教誨，實在是為了我們好啊。
但是也可能有的網友會說，那現在我知道了佛像不能佩戴，但是我確實很想獲得護佑保平安，有沒有什么可以佩戴的呢，小編告訴你，當然有，印祖也早就說過：
護身符可以用南無阿彌陀佛六字名號的佛牌或楞嚴咒掛件，有楞嚴經做依據。萬勿用佛菩薩像。
看到了吧，佩戴佛教經咒是可以的，而且是有經典依據，就是佛親自說過的。那么就是不但可以佩戴，還有真正的護佑平安的功用。因此楞嚴咒、南無阿彌陀佛六字名號，或者南無觀世音菩薩名號、南無地藏王菩薩名號，等等都是可以的。尤其，南無阿彌陀佛六字洪名，是萬咒之王，其中所蘊含的無量功德與威神之力是我們凡夫遠遠不能想象的。

還有，佛法有八萬四千法門，學習佛法最重要的是“一門深入，長時熏修”，不能像學世間的技術一樣博覽群書，那樣只是在浪費時間，最終一事無成。向你推薦凈土法門，因為這個法門“三根普被，利鈍全收”，上自等覺菩薩、下至地獄眾生都能學習，只要往生到極樂世界就做阿惟越致菩薩，獲得無生法忍，這是七地以上菩薩才能達到的境界，而且成佛快速，是十方三世一切佛都稱揚贊嘆的法門。只要一心稱念阿彌陀佛名號（念“南無阿彌陀佛”六個字或“阿彌陀佛”四個字, 其中“阿”讀【ā】），不懷疑、不夾雜、不間斷，當臨命終時阿彌陀佛和觀世音菩薩、大勢至菩薩還有西方極樂世界的菩薩眾會親自來接引你，如彈指頃就往生到極樂世界了。只要往生到西方極樂世界，就作阿惟越致菩薩，獲得無生法忍，這是七地以上菩薩才能達到的境界，具備天眼洞視（十方三世一切事情都看得見）、天耳徹聽（十方三世一切音聲都聽得見）、他心遍知（知道一切眾生心中想的是什么）、宿命通（知道自己及眾生以前生生世世的事情）、神足通（各種變化神通），壽命無量，也不再有生死，徹底脫離六道輪回，而且只要很短的時間就能成佛。
發心念佛愿往生西方凈土的人，才發一念求生極樂世界的心，極樂世界的七寶池內便生蓮花一朵，并標上這位念佛人的名字。如果這位念佛的人愿心精進，念佛念得很勤，這個蓮花一天一天就大，光色一天一天就好。將來你往生時阿彌陀佛來接引你，手上拿的蓮花，就是你自己修的蓮花。如果你念得懈怠，念得不勤快，這個花長得就很慢，光色就差一點，你那朵蓮花就一日比一日萎悴，最后就自動殞滅了。
《十往生經》云：若有眾生，念阿彌陀佛，愿往生者，彼佛即遣 二十五菩薩，擁護行者；若行、若坐、若住、若臥，若晝、若夜，一 切時，一切處，不令惡鬼惡神，得其便也。

普賢菩薩吊墜佩戴要求我自己求的普賢菩薩我要注意些什么?
如果是佛弟子，建議不要佩戴佛菩薩吊墜（可查印光法師開示）。如果與菩薩有緣，生歡喜心，佩戴吊墜注意事項：
1、佩戴時要對佛菩薩像尊重，常持善念，多做善事，不能持惡念，做惡事。如果您介意的話，盡量不要讓別人觸摸把玩，以免心生嗔怒。
2、玉質、寶石類吊墜要避免磕碰。避免與硬物碰撞、盡可能避免灰塵、玉器要保持適宜的濕度、佩掛件不用時要放妥、盡量避免與香水、化學劑液、肥皂和人體汗液接觸、避免陽光長期直射、佩掛件要用清潔、柔軟的白布抹拭，不宜使用染色布、纖維質硬的布料。
3、不要在不潔凈的地方把吊墜外露，比如廁所；不要讓污穢的東西，如洗腳水、臟水等污濁到菩薩像，洗澡沐浴，房事時也不可佩戴。
